Vineyards

Our wine making approach is best described as vineyard centric. We truly believe that quality wine is made in the vineyard. There is no fixing a bad grape in the cellar. We farm our vineyards in a bio dynamic manner using no pesticides or chemicals other than wetable sulfur, which is approved for organic grape growing. No-till agriculture with animals for weed control and nutrient application is used in our estate vineyards.

We source from other select vineyards in the Sierra Foothill Appellation that employ sustainable farming methods. We don’t subscribe to corrupt commercial certifications. We believe in “source” verification, in which you as the consumer verify us. This is an easy task for the consumer as 99% of our wines are sold directly out of the wineries front door.

Ultimately we will grow half of our grapes and continue to source the other half from select vineyards in the northern part of the Sierra Foothill Appellation. We source a small amount of white wine grapes from Northern California Appellations with coastal influence. This approach allows us to focus on quality as well as the best terroir for the varietals we produce.

All grapes are harvested at the optimum time using taste as the main criteria. We never use cost and convenience in our growing and harvesting decisions. Again, quality wine is truly made in the vineyard.
